Some of the Vachanas are mentioned below:

1.

What if body darkness blade?
What if body sines bright?
Once inward purity gained
Body that Channa Mallikarjuna loves
What matters how it is?

2. O Lord, you hear me or not, I cannot forebear without singing in your praise
O Lord, you see me or not, I cannot forebear without seeing you and bursting with joy
O Lord, you love me or not, I cannot forebear without worshipping you
O Lord ChannaMallikarjuna, I will adore you, worship you and swing with joy

3. O hunger, wait wait!
O thrust, wait wait!
O lust, wait wait!
O anger, wait wait!
O infatuation, wait wait!
O jealousy, wait wait!
O animate and inanimate, wait wait!
I salute you, I am carrying a message of ChannaMallikarjuna

4. I cannot say it is Linga,
I cannot say it's oneness with Linga;

I cannot say its union,
I cannot say its harmony;

I cannot say it has occured,
I cannot say it has not occured;

I cannot say it is you,
I cannot say it is I;

After unity with linga in ChannaMallikarjuna,
I can say nothing at all!

5. He has no pride of caste, because
He was delivered of no womb;

He has no pride of self, because
He knows no other near;

He has no pride of pelf, because
He has accomplished the impossible.

He has no pride at all, because
Thou hast posessed him, ChannaMallikarjuna,
Because he lives a disembodied life.

6. Knowledge is like the sun;
Devotion, like his rays;
Without the sun, there are no rays;
Without the rays, no sun;
So, how can ever be
Devotion without knowledge, knowledge without devotion,
O Channa Mallikarjuna!

7. If, having built your house upon a height,
You live ina dread of savage beasts,
How will it be?

If, having made your home upon a beach,
You fear the roth and foam,
How will it be?

If, having built your house in the bazaar,
You blush at every word,
How will it be?

Pray hearken unto me,
Lord Channa Mallikarjuna,
If being born upon this,
Or praise or scorn should be our lot,
We should be calm, nor let a thought
of anger penetrate our heart!
